CORRECTION: This Week's MOSAIC Story

A correction to today's newsletter. In the main story about the FAA's MOSAIC rule, two figures were wrong.

There is no 3,000-pound maximum takeoff weight for light-sport category aircraft. MOSAIC actually removes the prescriptive weight limit altogether, there is no MTOW cap at all now. That's a bigger change than what we described, not a specific number.

The clean stall speed limit (VS1, flaps retracted) is 59 knots calibrated airspeed, not 54. Aircraft in landing configuration (VS0, flaps extended) can go up to 61 knots.

The 250-knot cruise speed limit mentioned in the story was correct.
